I was recently assigned a five page essay on the topic of my choice and since I'm interested in cars I figured I'd write about something automotive related. However, I need help choosing what exactly to write about. So any ideas will be appreciated.

Ford VS Ferrari at LeMans: It's a good story and there's a shit ton of info. Maybe the history of a specific race, like Monaco through the years. Another topic could be safety in motersport, like " Grand Prix: The Killer Years " on paper

Personally, I'd do it on Lancia. Lots of good stories. Fiat takeover, Stratos, Group B, WRC wins, the Beta, current state. But that's just me being obsessed with them.
Another topic could be the rise, fall, and resurgence of the muscle car.
Or the evolution of the supercar might be a good one. By supercar, I mean cars like F40, Zonda, and P1.
Group B is always fun.
That said, the answer is always Miata.
Oh! Do a paper about why the Mini Countryman is SO BRITISH.

Is this strictly an informative essay or a persuasive one? If informative just pick something you love and explain it. If persuasive pick an automotive topic that has some contention to it, like dealership franchise laws, whether or not hybrid cars are really "green", or autonomous cars and their implications.
